Potato Feast!

There is something wonderfully fulfilling about growing a garden... cultivating it, tending to it and watching it grow and produce fruit.

We have planted two tomato plants, two bell pepper plants, several yellow squash and cucumber. We seeded zucchini plants, onions, carrots and potatoes.  The potatoes were last to be planted and last to sprout.  We have anxiously awaited the first sprout, and on March 12th, five days ago to our surprise we had 3!  The next morning, the 13th,  there were 8... and that afternoon there were 11!   Three days ago, on the 14th, there were 14 potato plants!  Yesterday there were 23 potato plants!

We are soo excited!  It looks like we'll be eating a LOT of potatoes soon!  We'll let you know when we'll be having our potato salad feast and barbeque!  You're ALL invited!

grrr... so jealous. Our backyard is just barely visible after being iced over the past several months. Winter gardening.... I wish! Take pictures!

At least potatoes keep well. It's not like lettuce that you have to use within a week! So you planned well! I'll have to bring you a head of lettuce!
